Scara Robotic ARM (STL files and Bill of Materials) TEMPORARY
The current version (BETA) of the SCARA ROBOTIC Arm will need you to print all the STL files attached to the message. No need to create a support for any part but for the GEAR 33 teeth STL file.

The same for the CLAMP stl files. No need of support.
We recommend a wall thickness of 2mm for all the parts and 20% infill.

Assembling the SCARA: Everything will fit tight. You may need to insert the ball bearings (linears and circular using a small hammer -be gentle!- Check the photos below for reference and the 3D model (interactive) to have a closer look to the arm (NOTE: the 3D model is not the LAST version of the arm, the CLAMP for example is not the latest and some parts have been slightly modified):
https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/scarabot...8e8cf2e155

We will update the ZIP file as we change the parts

Bill of Materials:
3x NEMA 17 stepper motors
3x 250mm 8mm diameter stainless steel (grade 304 or better) round bars
3x GT2 280mm timing belts
Threaded rod (200mm long) 2mm/rev + bronze nut (T8 Rod Lead+ Screw Nut)
20x 6mm M3 bolts
20x 20mm M3 bolts
4x 10mm M3 bolts
2x 45mm M3 bolts
20x M3 nuts
Motor axis coupler 5mm to 8mm for the threaded rod.
2 MG90 servos (SG90 will work too)
2x 608zz ball bearing
3x 623 ball bearing
2x LM8UU linear bearings
1x LM8LUU linear bearing
2x 6002RS Ball Bearing
4x 200-300 mm servo cable extender

If someone want to save the hassle of getting everything from different sources, contact us at info@jjrobots.com. We can pack up the ancillary elements and send them to you. The elements Kit would include some spare parts just in case we modify the Scara Robot a little bit from this stage to the "released" version

Does arm.stl also need support?

No need if you print it slowly. Optionally you can add the support but it can be tricky to remove it properly

Wow, this is super awesome. Going to start printing some of the STL files. I'm assuming we should purchase the Stepper motors from your shop to ensure they fit, yes? The rest of the parts are on eBay? Looking forward to more updates on this Robot Arm.

NEMA 17 stepper motors are very common and you can get them from anywhere that sells them. This design also looks like it could accommodate a range of sizes. That being said, I have compared the specs of what JJrobots has for sale, and they are higher quality than most to be found on eBay at a very reasonable price. Also we should support them as much as possible so they continue to make such great projects!
