Check you are pressing ENTER after introducing the length of the rail. Otherwise the APP will not update the Arduino with the new info.

If you are planning to use "end of rail" buttons, you can use the SENSOR input on the Brain shield board. The two sensors connected to the same line will work as the Arduino "knows" where the camera is moving to, so there is no need to use two different lines for the two end on rail sensor.
