Sand drawing robot (iBoardbot´s HACK) - JohnQ - 08-30-2016 12:33 PM

Hi!
I just finished this iBoarbot´s Hack, the Sand drawing robot!
I am just leaving here a very short video. It still is a prototype but it works!

On the software side: I only had to reduce the drawing speed and acceleration.

I will update this thread with more info soon (And after I get sand instead of flour :-D )

Wow! Looks like a fantastic start - I am looking forward to the future video posts.

If you are looking for files to feed the sandbot, check out GocuPi tutorial: they show how to convert any image to vector file that can be drawn by sandbot.

I am almost there! creating a case for the robot to make it look pretty :-D
I am using the jjrobots iboardbot APP to create the drawings and it is working nicely so far:

(uploading images and "vectorizing" them on the fly)

Hi JohnQ,

I am really interested in this project, can you share more details and updates?

My idea is to build something similar to this: http://www.sisyphus-industries.com/

Thank you!
