Full Version: Some questions related to the B-Robot/Brain Shield

I bought the Brain Shield and put together a B-Robot using my own frame. It works fine. Thanks for the good work. However, I have a few questions.
1. The Robot can stand and I can control it using the Android app. I observed that while standing, it shakes a little bit. Maybe it is normal, but I want to make sure.
2. It can move forward and backward. However, while moving, if I want to stop, I need to do it gradually. Otherwise, it will fall. Is it normal?
3. The wifi module used by the shield is ESP-12E (ESP8266). However, in the PDF file of the schematic, it is shown as XBEE-1B1. Does this mean the schematic is out of date? If it is, is there an updated schematic that I can find?

It looks like you will have to modify the PID control to improve the behavior / stability of your custom B-robot.

The same applies for point 1 and 2. It is about adjusting the PID values to your robot

For the ESP12 module, looks like the GPIO04/05/12/13/14/15 pins are not connect to anything, is this correct? (I haven't read schematics for a long time, sorry for the stupid question. Big Grin )

Yes, they are not needed. BUT it is "easy" to solder a cable to the moduleĀ“s pads if you need your own "interface"

Thank you. If I want to build my own "PC" board, can just hook it up as given in the schematic and upload the sketch to Arduino Leonardo. Do I need do any programming with ESP12? Assume the firmware with AT commands has been loaded.
